This 6-week program teaches kids the sport of flag football through exciting drills and agility exercises. All players will need to wear sneakers and bring water to each session. We have footballs for the players to use. Pigskin tees & jerseys are available for purchase but NOT required!
*PLEASE NOTE: Some parent participation may be needed for our Pre-K Age Kids’ Groups.

THE PIGSKIN PRINCESS PROJECT - GIRLS FOOTBALL
The Pigskin Princess Project is more that just football for kids!
We know that the benefits of playing sports for girls is vast, so we have created a totally unique girls flag football program that encourages ALL girls (even those who may not be big into sports) to get outside and play some football! Our program teaches participants (ages 3 through 11) the fundamentals of flag football through exciting drills, agility exercises, and scrimmaging. But, that's not all! Our 'Word-of-the-Season' segment highlights inspiring females who embody that particular word. This, along with our guest speakers, and community involvement projects makes for a totally unique and engaging experience!

Meet The Pigskin Princess Project Team
COACH JO ANN
In 2005, Coach Jo Ann moved to Dutchess County from Long Island to get married and start a family. She is a mom to 2 daughters, Casey (9), and Haley (5) and a wife to Joel, a huge football fan, whose fascination with the sport pushed Jo to want to learn more about it. Hearing about the Pigskin Princess Project immediately caught Jo’s attention because of her personal aspiration of wanting to raise two strong, powerful girls. Her daughter, Casey was among the first 11 girls to participate in the program and her younger daughter, Haley has also participated in the program. Right from the start, Jo selflessly began helping at every practice and quickly became Laura’s right-hand woman. The kids adore her easygoing manner and warm nature. She knows how to motivate our players and is a major reason they continue to play season after season!
COACH SCOTT
Coach Scott was born and raised in Fishkill. As a kid, his sport was baseball, which he played from little league all the way up through the varsity level at our very own John Jay East Fishkill High School. Scott attended SUNY Binghamton after 2 years at Dutchess Community College and has a BS in Mechanical Engineering. When he's not coaching football and his kids' softball, and baseball teams, Scott works as a Senior Designer for Con Edison. He shares a home with his awesome wife Cat and their 3 kids, Grace (8), Ben, (6), and Eliza (2). Coach Scott's daughter Grace was among the first girls to participate in the Pigskin Princess Project and his son, Ben participated in our very first Pigskin Prince Project. After Scott graciously and enthusiastically kept volunteering at every practice, he was officially hired as part of our Coaching Staff. Scott is a natural at coaching. He loves the game and working with children and it shows. He is patient, encouraging, and knows how to make learning fun! We are so very proud to have him as part of our Pigskin team!
COACH LAURA
In 2013, when Laura was looking for a summer sports camp for her then 4-year-old daughter, she was frustrated that most programs started at age 5 or 6 and the ones her daughter could participate in were not of the team sport variety. When she did find a camp, it ended up being a horrible experience so Laura decided to start her own program. In 2014, she launched the Pigskin Princess Project, a flag football empowerment program for girls, ages 3-11. The program has since expanded to reach boys, ages 3-5 with the Pigskin Prince Project! As a kid, Laura was the one organizing the wiffle ball games at family parties. She played field hockey and lacrosse in high school and when her new school didn't have a girls' lacrosse team, Laura tried starting one. She has her master's degree in Social Work and cares deeply about creating a culture where children are free to live their biggest, bravest lives.
